My house was foreclosed more than 2 years ago. I’m located in CA. Now, I have got a job and my credit situation is also good. So, I’m all set to buy a new home. I need to know whether or not I can any success disputing a foreclosure? I feel that if I dispute, then the lender may come after me for the balance amount. I want to dispute the foreclosure because, the loan number is not the same as the one I have on my paperwork. I was planning on disputing this before but wanted a more info in this matter.
Hi Jerey,
In CA, the lender won't be able to come after you in order to collect the deficient amount resulting from the sale of the property as it is a non-recourse state. As far as disputing the foreclosure is concerned, it will be better if you could contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.
Take care
