Credit hit because mortgage provider paid property tax late

Posted on: 06th Jul, 2014 05:30 am
BSI Financial Services, Inc purchased my Citi Mortgage. They did not pay the second installment of my property tax. I received a letter from the county saying they had put a lien on my property. I contacted BSI, they prompting paid the tax and said it was their error.
NOW my excellent credit has changed to fair to good. What can I do about this? I have called BSI and left a message.
How do I get my credit repaired? It has always been excellent and I am shooting for an 850.
Thanks,
Deb
Start by contacting the 3 agencies, equifax, experian and transunion. State that there was a legitimate error and a lien was placed on your credit. Get a letter from the servicer that they paid the tax late. Show that to the credit agencies, and they should be able to investigate and remove the item.
