Credit report shows judgment in public record section. I would like to pay it back in full. But say I pay off the whole debt, does that help me remove the judgment? Do I need to hire attorney to negotiate with my creditor for a PFD on the judgment?
what you'll need to do is supply the court from which the judgment was issued with evidence that it has been paid. from the judgment creditor, you'll want to obtain a receipt reflecting payment in full.
Hello Malvin,
Welcome to the Community.
gmakerley is right. You need to show the proof that you have paid off the whole debt. When you have paid the debt has the creditor give you proof that you have paid it off?
You need to dispute it with the credit bureaus. Ask your creditor to provide the accurate information to the credit bureaus. It is his duty to provide the correct information to the credit bureaus.
Feel free to ask the community if you have any further questions

malvin, make sure the court is aware of the satisfaction of judgment; that ought to then appear on your credit report. you can also direct a copy or copies of the satisfaction directly to the credit reporting agencies themselves (trans union, equifax, experian) and ask them to update their records. this is often a quicker way. you ought not have to file a dispute.
