I PURCHASED A HOME IN 2005 WITH A DOMESTIC PARTNER...WE BROKE UP, WHEN WE PURCHASED THE HOME SHE GRANTED ME POWER OF ATTORNEY BEING THAT AT TIME OF CLOSING, SHE WAS AWAY IN BASIC TRAINING..SO WHEN WE BROKE UP SHE TOLD ME TO TAKE HER NAME OFF THE HOME UTILIZING HER POWER OF ATTORNEY AND I DID JUST THAT USING A QUICK CLAIM DEED
lisa, you have run the risk of having your former partner come back and claim you had no standing to do what you did.

it seems to me you'd have a very difficult time justifying the quit claim deed, inasmuch as you are the recipient of the benefit as well as the de facto grantor.
