Refinainced my loan but my name still on deed

Posted on: 26th Aug, 2009 07:44 am
I bought a house 10 years ago and then 3 years later met my husband. I have always paid the payments on my house. A year ago we refinanced the house and the bank insisted he be on the loan as well, but my name was left on the deed alone. If I would divorce my husband would I have to split or lose the house because of this. What should I do?
Tami

What happens with the house will be determined by the divorce negotiations and/or the judge....NOT by the bank.

For example, a judge may decide that you need to split the value of the home even if it was in one person's name.
