I have never owned a home or property this year a house was quick deeded to me but the morgage is not in my name do i qualify for the tax credit
impossible to answer, blee. i suggest you check the irs website directly and there you'll find all the requirements to claim the tax credit.

since mortgage is not in your name, you can not prove that mortgage is paid by you.

Therefore, i donot think that you can claim tax benefits

hi,
If you have on the deed, you'd qualify. There doesn't even have to BE a mortgage.
if you are on the deed, lives in the house and can prove, that you have contributed towards the payment of the house, you may qualify for the credit
