I have not filed for divorce yet, but i have already left the home. My next step is to complete divorce processes. However, during the marriage a home was purchased in the sum of $560K. I contributed approxiately 9K toward the home. My name does not appear on either the deed or the mortgage. In addition, there are no utillities in my name at all. We've been married four years. Furthermore, when I left the home I did not remove any property but my clothing. Am i legally responsible for the home if it was not mortgaged to me? Am I legally responsible for any other debt that is not in my name?
My husband has recently been laid off, up to now he has always earned more $$$ than me - does this have any impact on financial responsibility.

If you name isn't on the Title,mortgage, or debt than you're NOT legally liable.
Thank you - I feel so relieved. Although I realize that I could be responsible for alimony to supplement.
