My husband and I are both on the deed, but my name is on the loan. My husband is refusing to help make the mortgage payment. What can I do? Can I force him to move or take his name off of the deed?
I think you should make him understand the situation that it can help a lot if he also pays a share of the mortgage payments.
Hi ,
You cannot force your husband to move out of the house because his name is already on the deed. Since your name is on the loan, so you will have to make the payoff.
In case, you default on the loan, the lender may take away your property. Then it will depend on your husband whether he wishes to save his property; if he can then make all payments on your behalf, only then your property will be saved.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Mistyblueberrys,
I think refinancing at lower rate if possible can be a good choice, but again you will have to make your husband agree as his name is on the deed. Perhaps with lower payments, you can repay the loan easily. Also, try to plan a budget for each month so that you spend less and save more.
Thanks
