Is there a spreadsheet showing the amount of Documentary Stamp tax assessed by those various taxing entities in Florida?
Hi Schneider,
Documentary stamp tax is levied upon many documents such as,
-deeds
-bonds
-notes
-mortgages
-liens and many other similar documents

Hi Schneider,
I have some of the details about Deeds:
For a transfer of anyone's interest in real estate property the tax rate amounts to $.70 for $100 of the total amount paid.
There is different rate applicable in Miami-Dade, where its $.60 instead of $.70 for single-family residences.
And for other non single-family residence properties, it is calculated as $.60 + $.45 surtax for every $100.
The document types which include transfer of interest can be like:
*Warranty Deeds
*Quit Claim Deeds
*Deeds in lieu of foreclosure

Hi,
Let me add some details for you about the other documents and their tax rates.
Thanks
Let me add some details for you about the other documents and their tax rates.
- For Bonds, the tax is based in relation to its face value and is to be paid for original issuance.
The rate comes to about $.35 for $100. - For Notes and other money payment obligations, the rate is same as for bonds. The obligation for payment is based on promise which is duly signed and executed.
The kind of notes can be :
a.Demand Notes
b.Term Notes
c.Title Loans
d.Certain Renewal Notes - And for Mortgages and other types of liens, it is also $.35 for every $100 and relies on the total secured amount.
Thanks
Hi Schneider,
I am not aware of any spreadsheet showing the amounts but you can have a look at this Florida Department of Revenue page ( "http://sun6.dms.state.fl.us/dor/taxes/doc_stamp.html" ) where you will get additional information to what Colin and James have mentioned.
Thanks
