adding wife's name to title deed

Posted on: 10th Sep, 2006 05:52 am
I have just gotten married.
I will like to add my wife's name to the title deed of my town home.
What should I do?
Thanks
John
hi jonkay,

you can add your wife's name to the title deed of your home town by a quit claim deed.

first contact an attorney and let him prepare the deed for you. then you need to sign the deed in the presence of a notary public. the attorney will help you to record the deed at the office of the register of deeds.

thanks

Hi Annette!

Welcome to Forums!

You can add your name to the deed by a quitclaim deed. Remember to notarize the deed in the county recorder's office.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
