I co-signed on my boyfriend's mortgage and am on the title. We have since broken up and he is now married. I have been trying to get my name off the mortgage and house for over a year, by dealing with them directly. They were supposed to re-finance this past summer and now are saying they are going to try to sell next Spring. I have contacted a lawyer about this matter and he said I could file a partition suit? I'm worried that they owe more than what the house is worth. Need some advice!
Hi megcamp!
Welcome to the forums!
If your name is mentioned on the title of the deed, then you should be able to file a partition lawsuit. You should contact an attorney and he will help you in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
