i'm trying to refinance and my current lender is stating a fourteen day turn time for mortgage payoff request.. they will not give a reason why it will take so long.. is there a law that states they have to provide it by a certain timeline of request?... thanks
Hi Pit,
There is no specific law which governs the mortgage pay off turn time. It depends from lender to lender.

Most of the lenders have many backlogs of payoff request, so it may happen that there is a delay in processing your request.
There are no specific laws which govern the time period within which your request should be processed. But if they take more time than they have stated then you can make them to complete the process quickly stating that your refinance will get affected because of their delay.
