Loan Modification

I am divorced. My ex got the house. I quit claimed myself off of the deed but am still on the mortgage. She recently got a loan modification from Bank of America without my knowledge or consent. When I spoke to B of A they said that they didn't need my signature for the modification. How is that so? I am still liable for the mortgage if she goes into default.
Not sure how they did this without all borrowers signing? Hopefuly with the mod she doesnt go into default however if she does you are correct you are responsible. I would never advise quit claiming a property that you still owe on. It is not the quick fix that most believe it to be.

Good Luck

B of A ought to need your signature and this is something pretty absurd that they didn't. However, you shouldn't quit claim a property that you still owe. Why don't you talk to your financial advisor?
