Hi here it goes our neighbor has been gone 3 years now. the home has been broken into thrashed etc, my husband and i decided to fix the broken window and clean up the home, and take adverse possesssion of the home, in 5 years from the year 2014 , we feel if our neighbor came home we would ask them to repay us taxes and broken window damages, we do not want to see this home or any home get thrashed.well the home was broken into, we called the cops, and the cops are now looking for the owners, cops cannot find the owners, and the cop informed me he was turning it over to the pa, i am not sure what pa is, i am thinking it has to do with the state, anyway he told us we would lose our money we paid on taxes., i was wondering if he is correct can the state or other come in when the owners are missing and take it from us who paid the property taxes? i would think the owners are the only one who could do anything, am i wrong? if the owners are truly missing, why is it the state or other can come take over and tell me i am out? looking for input similar stories? Ashley
What kind of terms did you have with your neighbor? Don't you think that you're simply taking responsibility and possibly digging your own grave? How can you be sure that they will come back to pay you the damage costs and the property taxes? What if they don't pay you back?
