credit score

i'm wondering if your credit score can increase
80 points within a year.
Hello ocynthia5,

It is very easy to increase your credit score up to 80 points within a year. As long as you pay all your bills on time.

Another thing I suggest is to go get your credit report and scan it through with a fine tooth comb.

Look for anything that does not look correct and dispute it. Look for late payments that you know you were never late, charge offs, negative items that aren't yours.

Pay down your debts.

Check your limits.

If you do have any late payments in the past, call up or write the lender to see if they are willing to erase that late payment

Do not apply for new cards.

Great place for new tips would be at www.myfico.com.

Hope the little information provided will be of assistance to you.

Good luck!!

Hi ocynthia,

Welcome to our forums.

It is possible to bring up your score to a higher value. Just follow the tips given below.
  • Pay off all delinquent bills and collections in time.

  • Keep your credit card balances low as high level of debt affects your score negatively.

  • Apply for new credit cards only when required the most.

  • Keep a check on your credit report at regular intervals.
For more information on this issue, refer to our section on How to improve credit score .

Thanks,

Caron.

Cynthia,

Many of my friends were able to get up by as much as 100 points in a year by planning their finances properly. I am sure you would also be able to do it.
