one more question

as i stated in my previous question, i live in iowa and i am going through a divorce. i would like to do the quit claim deed as soon as possible. from my understanding, the divorce does not have to be finallized to do the quit claim deed. is that correct? the divorce status has nothing to do with the quit claim deed.

thanks
Yes Melanie, I read your previous post, if both of you mutually agree to this property transfer then there will not be any problem.

"I would like to do the quit claim deed as soon as possible."
Quit claim can be done when the divorce is yet to complete but you must consult an attorney in this regard to confirm.

I too feel the same. The divorce need not be finalized to do the quit claim. But if there is a court case going on, then it is up to the court to decide who will get what percentage of the property interest.
