Quit Claim

Posted on: 08th Aug, 2006 03:00 am
I am in a predicament. I have been married for 5 years. My husband and I searched together and bought a home. I was not put on the title by Mortgage company. I have to signed a quitclaim.

My questions:
1. If we divorce, does she lose all claims on the house because I signed the quitclaim?

2. Is it possible to change that quitclaim? and add my name in the title with exemption community property with right of survivorship?
My husband and his daughter have become very close and secretive since his illness. Can he add her name to the deed of our home without my knowledge?

Hi Dee Dee!

Welcome to forums!

If your husband is one of the owners of the home, then he will be able to add his daughter to the deed without your permission and transfer his share of the property to her.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I guess that to get the loan from banks you must have a good reason. Nevertheless, once I have got a secured loan, just because I was willing to buy a bike.
