My home was foreclosed in February 2010. I was told the bank bought it back. It is now January 31st 2011. I am ready to file my taxes. I was waiting to receive a form 1099A or 1099C but I have only received a form 1098 from the lender and nothing else. I read that the lender is to have those forms to me by Feb. 1st, but I have not received either yet. Does this mean I dont have to use them when I file?? What should I do??
Welcome kpark,
You should contact your lender and ask him to send it to you asap. If the lender does not send you the documents, your tax filing will remain incomplete.
Take care.
