We are looking forward to buy a house. We filed our taxes jointly in the last 2years. However, part of time he was not working and I was working whereas in the second part, I as not working and he was working. But we still filed the taxes jointly. In this situation, can we get a mortgage?

Hi Guest,

I agree with what Niicss has said. Unless you can show 2 years of employment history, getting a loan will be difficult.

Thanks

Yes, I too agree with the above posters. But apart from your employment history, the lenders will also check your credit score and DTI ratio. What is your credit score?
