odd situation

Posted on: 23rd Apr, 2013 10:29 pm
I've signed and given my money to the title company. There were 4 documents that were overlooked for the seller to sign before she left the country and she refuses to sign anything from out of the country. She won't be back until 1 day before the end of the month, which is when I have to be out of my rental. I can't move my furniture or anything into the house without a signature from the seller but she won't sign because she doesn't want to look at her email and sign the document authorizing me to move in prior to closing either. If I wanted to back out and not buy, the closing isn't technically official because she has 4 documents left. Can I get out without repercussion since she's not cooperating?
Hi dthomasc,

Unless she signs the documents, the deal won't go through and the closing won't be complete. In such a situation, if you wish, you can cancel the deal.

Thanks

Hi dthomasc!

Welcome to the forums!

If you feel that she is not cooperating with you and if the deal isn't closed, then you can back out of the deal and look out for other properties.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
