If my name is on the deed of trust but not on the loan and I can show proof of paying the mortgage. Can I claim all mortgage interest on my income tax return?
You would not be getting the 1099 in your name in order for you to claim the interest, whoever is on the loan gets to claim it - simply because you've made the payments doesn't mean you can claim the interest.
hi len!
welcome to forums!
you may refinance the loan and transfer the mortgage in your name. this will help you to claim all mortgage interest on my income tax return.
feel free to ask if you have further queries.
