How do I become part ownwer of a home?

Posted on: 10th Jun, 2008 12:32 am
I made a mortgage payment on a home loan for another person. How do i get added to the deed and claim part ownership?
Welcome Robert,

Are you on the loan? if you wish to get added to the deed, all you have to do is have a talk to the lender because any change of ownership may result in the latter calling the loan due. By the way, is the person currently on the deed willing to make you a co-owner?

I had made a payment and according to what i heard about Texas law I can become part owner. The person did not want me added to the deed

See if the person is not willing to add you on the deed, how can you add yourself? He's the primary owner after all.

I don't know anything about Texas law. How would you become part owner if the person currently on deed doesn't want to give you a legal interest in the property?

Did you have a written agreement loaning the payment money to the owner?
