A commercial mortgage is more or less same as a residential mortgage. In case of a commercial mortgage, the collateral is a commercial building or other business real estate and not a residential property. Moreover, such mortgages are taken by businesses instead of individual borrowers. In case of commercial mortgages, the borrower can be a limited company, partnership or incorporated business.
