i live in alaska. i was married for almost 27 years and was divorced. at the time of the divorce my ex-husband signed a quit claim deed so that he would not be able to ever claim the house, it was left to me. the mortgage still remains in both our names but the title is in my name. the quit claim deed was notarized and filed.
after several years we are back together and plan on remarrying. we were wondering if there is a way to remove the quit claim deed? i know i could do a quit claim deed and the house would then go back to him but we want both our names to be on the title. is there any way to do this?
thanks

Hi Vicki,
Welcome to the forums.
Good to hear that you are reuniting.
You can surely add both of your names on the title. Get a fresh quit claim deed drafted by an attorney. It will help you to add your husband's name to the title. Your name is already on the title, so all you need to do is add his name.
After you sign the quitclaim deed, get it notarized and file it again at the Office of the Register of Deeds.
Thanks,
Sara

Good to see you two remarrying again. 27 years is a very long relationship indeed. :)
