If you have a payment to make on a delinquent mortgage can the lender refuse that payment
How many months it's been delinquent? If it is quite a number of months the lender now might be thinking about foreclosure and that is why not accepting payments.
You should ask the lender about the reinstatement amount and offer to make the payment. The lenders generally accept such a request.
If that does not work then take help from foreclosure prevention counseling agencies. If the lender is not responding to your queries, the agency will discuss your issue with them and try to find a solution.

Mtdb,
Have a talk to your lender and find out if he is willing to accept delinquent payment. It's true that he may be thinking of foreclosing your property but then it will require him to spend several dollars to initiate the process and finally sell your property.
It is quite possible that the lender may accept late payments rather than do a foreclosure or think upon an alternative plan for your loan repayment.
