divorce from british citizen

Posted on: 03rd Mar, 2013 07:48 am
I'm married to a british citizen and the house is in my name only.
I want to divorce him but not sure where I stand about the house. Do I have to buy him out of it? He's actually never lived in the house with me and it's going on 2 years
Hi sandman,

If the house is solely in your name and if you don't live in a community property state, you don't have to buy him out.

No, there's no need to buy him out since the house happens to be solely on your name.
