Is it possible to take over payments on a home loan like a car loan? To just sign over a deed like a I'm going through a divorce and we are trying to do it as amicably as possible. Right now, our home is only in his name and I would like him to sign it over to me and allow me to take over payments. Is this possible?

you will have to refinance the loan on your name to take over payments on a home loan. now you can do it only when your ex-husband will quitclaim the property to you. talk to the mortgage company to fine out whether you can get approved for refinancing the loan.
