Escrow money - borrower passed away

Posted on: 26th Aug, 2013 02:24 am
How long does money from escrow have to be there with the lender? The owner of the property passed away...
It will depend upon what happens to the property. If the lender has to recover the money by selling it off, then he may keep the escrow amount.

Hi Guest!

Welcome to the forums!

As the owner has passed away, the estate will deal with the lender regarding the mortgage. Unless the dealings are complete, the lender may hold the money in the escrow.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
