Does FHA allow dug wells?
Hi,
As far as I know, the FHA guidelines allow you to have dug wells in the property. But it depends on the state laws as well. If the state laws permit dug wells, FHA too allows them. However, the water of the well has to be good in quality. There should not be any evidence of contamination. There should also not be any landfill, factory, coal mine etc. within the 1/4 miles from where the dug well is located.

Basically it depends on the state laws guidelines. Also one can confirm with lender before taking FHA loan. But as far as my knowledge they allows to dug well. FHA doesnot have such ammendment for diggng well. Its purely depends on local law.
I think you have to do investigation before going for FHA.
