Hi,
I have a 25K judgement on my credit. FICO 620. Income $100K salary. Same employer for last 3 years. I want to apply for an FHA loan in 6 months and was thinking of trying to start a payment plan with the creditor. Would this help me get an FHA loan or not really? I cant afford to pay off the debt and dont think the creditor will settle. Am I in renters jail until I get this paid off or what?
Thanks for your time everyone!
Chris

Hi ChrisB,
Welcome to forum,
if you can ask some friend or spouse to co-own the loan it will be easy for you to get a FHA loan even with the judgment....
Or else you can ask your friends or relatives to help you get the 25K (either through their savings or new loan on their name) and then pay-off the judgment amount and then apply for the FHA loan...
This option could be one of the simple way to get a dream home on your own and get free from renter's jail....

I will say pay 25k judgement then of course improve your credit and go for FHA.....
That is what I feel in your case.
Good Luck
