I went through a divorce in 2007 and paid for two households. In 2008 I contacted countrywide (servicer at the time) and paid for three months, at which time they quit accepting my payments. In sep of last year I received a monthly statement from BAC and began paying the inflated amount for four months. I asked to be considered for the home affordable program. In january I was told the 1640.18 amount would no longer be accepted and must pay 1904.12 which I did. I was then told that I was not accepted into the program but DIL or short sale was considered. When I looked on BAC's site the document they have on file for my note is for 26000 not the 106000 (have my second as the note) do I have any recourse to either have them work with me or dispute the debt?
Hi Guest!

You should contact your lender and dispute the debt. You can ask him to clarify amount on the note. If the lender does not clarify the doubts, then you contact an attorney and take his help in regards to the debt.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
