We signed a land contract on a home in June, and moved in. We have made monthly payments on time until we started getting mailings from banks for lessee. We asked repeatedly for proof that mortgage was up to date starting in October. He ignored request. We stopped sending him our lease payment in January, saying we would forward it once he provided proof, which the contract indicates was our right to know. We received notice of foreclosure last week. We are listed as defendants who may have a claim.
What are our rights, if any? What do we do about lease payment?

Welcome Ereiss,
You should contact an attorney and discuss the whole matter with him. He will let you know the steps to stop the foreclosure and what actions you might take against the lessee.
