House Deed

my husbands ex-wife disappeared three years ago. he was serving in iraq and she abandoned the house. we have been unable to locate her. he had to file for divorce through publication. we found out her name is on the deed to the home no the mortgage. we can't find her to serve her a quit claim deed. what can we do? she has been gone three years abandoning everything and leaving him in a lurch. we are restationing and can not afford two living expenses. we are facing voluntary surrender.
