Can I live in a foreclosed property which is not mine and keep my belongings safe or will someone lock my belongings when I am at work? One of my friends has been living similarly for the past 2 years.
It is better to avoid such properties. You never know when someone will come and lock that property. You will lose your belongings.
Living in a house that you do not own or rent is trespassing. As a trespasser, the true owner may dispose of your belongings at will and change the locks on the property without notice. You may also be liable for rent damages if the owner wants to sue.
