what is a typical mortgage application fee and committment fee when mortgaging a home?
Application fees are non-refundable fees. Generally, the mortgage lenders do not charge this fee up front. If any lender does so, you can move out of that deal. However, if you have a bad credit, the lender may ask you to pay the application fees up front. The lender will put a lot of time in finding out ways if he can approve your loan or not. As time is money, he may charge the application fees up-front.
