Does anyone know if there are license requirements in Pennsylvania yet for being a mortgage modification consultant in PA state? I don't see any requirements anywhere.
Hi Guest,
Every state has its own rules and regulations that describes who id eligible to modify mortgages and the process how the mortgage should be modified. Some states require a loan modification consultant to be an attorney, while others require him to have a mortgage broker license. You should talk to an attorney who is well-versed with the laws regulating mortgage modification service in the state of Pennsylvania. He can give guide you best in this matter.

the sense i get concerning the modification game is that licenses must not be needed; else how would all these scammers get in the game? as for a specific state, however; such as pennsylvania - i would suggest that one contact either the attorney general's office in that state or the secretary of state's office in that state. i'm certain that one or both of those offices would have all the information one would need to enable an individual or a company to get involved in (and make too much money at) the modification business.
