Mortgage for Relocation

Posted on: 11th May, 2011 08:56 am
Hello.

I have a situation that I am hoping I can get some advise on. I was pre-approved for a $250k mortgage and found a home where I put in an offer and was approved. When I told my mortgage broker that I had an accepted offer she stated that she entered that my current home (that I am being relocated from for work but have to sell on my own) was already sold though I never told her this. So needless to say I am now having trouble getting my mortgage approval again. She is stating that my DTI is too high with the mortgage still open. She is trying to get me in an FHA mortgage and we are going to try and get my husband on the loan (but this means that he now lives in another state so he can get a job due to the transfer).

So my question is are there any other mortgages that I can look into other than FHA that will allow for a higher DTI. I believe she said I am around 60% by myself with a credit score of about 670.

Thanks for your time.

Kristina, I'm not quite sure I understood the reference to your husband. Of course, if his income is sufficiently high to enable you to qualify to carry both mortgage loans, that's a great benefit.

If you and he can combine forces on this new debt and bring the debt ratio down to acceptable levels, the mistake made by the broker might not turn out so bad.

That one is, by the way, a huge mistake to make. Be careful with whatever other "sound advice" she's been handing out to you.
