How do I remove my name from a deed filed in bankruptcy?
Hi Happy,
Welcome to Mortgagefit, If you think its good for you then, You can surrender the property to lender earlier & urge him to file foreclosure on your property then you can get rid from bankruptcy. Lender will sell off your property then you will not be responsible for making mortgage payments anymore. That way you can remove you name from bankruptcy.
Happy to help you.
Thanks & Regards.

The bankruptcy has already been filed and discharged and the mortgage lender has that information, but hasn't taken the property out of my name at land & records department.
The house was filed in the bankruptcy.
Hi Happy,
Unless the property is sold off after you get a discharge from your bankruptcy, the property will remain in your name. You should ask your lender to take steps in order to sell off the property asap so that you're released from all the liabilities toward your property.
Thanks
