How can i get my name removed from a loan where my ex wife lives
if you're on both the mortgage and title; you will have to quitclaim the property and refinance.
You cannot get your name removed from the loan unless the ex refinances.
Now, I have seen cases where people were able to get the mortgage company to stop reporting a mortgage in a situation like this.
Most recently, my client had perfect credit except for the ex not paying the mortgage after he was awarded the home.
The mortgage company agreed that before the divorce the mortgage was always paid on time and helped my client out.
Will likely depend on mortgage servicing company.... but it is worth a shot.
