My mortgage company is telling me that I have no ownership in property that I reside in. They are telling me i do not qualify for a modification because the property isnt owner occupied. I am on the deed, tax bills, homeowners insurance.
The owner of the loan is my father who was recently put in nursing home due to illness. Do I have ownership in this home? I am trying to modifiy mortgage loan. I do also have POA (Power of Attorney). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
If your name is mentioned on the property deed, then you will be considered as one of the owners of the property. The lender is wrong in saying that you do not have ownership rights in the property if your name is mentioned on the property deed.
