In an owner finance agreement, what happens if the seller files bankruptcy on the home at the bank?

I am the buyer in the agreement but I pay the bank directly. The seller is going to file bankruptcy on the home at the bank. Is there anything we can do to keep from losing our home?
hi rpclark!

welcome to forums!

you should immediately refinance the mortgage in your name in order to transfer the home loan in your name. however, if the seller transfers the property to you now, he won't be able to file bankruptcy immediately. if he does so, then the property transfer will be considered as fraudulent.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
