Planning to buy a house for family

Posted on: 15th Jul, 2013 12:24 am
I am planning to buy a house. I am just 17 but have a stable income for the past 2 years and I know I will be able to afford the home. I will be buying it for my family. But I do not know how to proceed. Can anyone please help me?
Hi Guest,

First and foremost, at the age of 17, you will not be able to get a mortgage. You have to be an adult to get a property and a mortgage in your name. If you have a stable income and good credit scores and meet all the required criteria of the lender, you will be able to get a mortgage when you are adult.

Take care

You may get a co-signer to get a loan and to keep the property in trust till the time you become an adult. Once you are legally permitted to own a mortgage and a house, then get those transferred after in your name after that.
