thanks again
thanks again
Hi donfig
You will have a mortgage document and a property deed. Both of them are seperate documents. The deed or the VA note to the property and the property deed are not the same documents.
Thanks.

Hi donfig,
You are welcome. It's really nice to know that you found my suggestions helpful. :)
Niicss is right. A property deed and a VA note are two different things. The property deed is the title to your property. It's a proof of your ownership. The note on the other hand is a mortgage document that obligates you to repay the loan. If you have got a copy of the property deed from the deeds office, then that is your title to the property and proof of your ownership.

When I first bought the house I received a copy of my "Deed of Trust" with my package. Once I paid the house off, all I received from the county recorder's office was a "Substitution of Trustee" and a "Full Reconveyance". Shouldn't I have received a title deed showing "paid in full"?
Hi frank,
You can ask the lender to issue a release of lien certificate as you've paid off the mortgage in full. You can then record it at the county recorder's office. This will prove the fact that you own the property free and clear.
