Quit claim

Posted on: 23rd Oct, 2006 09:56 pm
My Ex boyfriend and I purchased a home 1 year later he quit claimed the home to me and all he asked of me was to take his name off the loan which I have done. 8 months later after finding out I was getting married now claims he signed it under duress. He filed a lis pendens on the home and wants ne to sell it and give him 50% of all the equity. To my understanding this is a leagal document once signed there is nothing you can do. What are my rights? I have paid all payments taxes etc...since he has been gone. I have three children and do not want to lose my home What right do I have?? Please Help
Thank you so much for your advice I will contact a few different lawyers just to discuss how they can help me. The couple I have spoke to I only asked about the cost of a trial $20 to $30 thousand . That's my biggest problem the amount of money it costs to go to trial. I don't have that kind of money and can't use the home to take any money out.......
There has to be someone out there that could hopefully help and end this before a trail begins, I know my ex does not have that kind of MONEY......

Thank you again....................

PS
How do I retrive your private message??

Would the courts take into consideration all the payments, taxes, and home improvemnets I have paid out of my own pocket, and minus 1/2 of everything I have paid... as if he was still living in the home before settling?
