I have recently had a BK discharged (state of TX). I have continued to pay my mortgage and I am in good standing with my lender. A loan reaffirmation was requested and apparently my lawyer did not file it with the courts. Lender shows paperwork was sent prior to discharge but lawyer never received. Upon speaking with my lender since my loan has to be reaffirmed prior to the discharge there is nothing that they can do and they will not report anything to the credit bureau. I am really concerned since I want to rebuild my credit. Can I get my loan reaffirmed????
Hi heiditmoore,
You can get your loan reaffirmed. In order to do so, you'll have to re-open your bankruptcy filing. You should contact your bankruptcy attorney and he will assist you in this regard.
Thanks
