I have a quitclaim deed dated 2-6-00 deeding my parents land to my brother and I. We all live in Arkansas and the land is in Arkansas. The quitclaim deed has not been filed. My parents are still alive. Can the deed be filed now?
Hi Guest,
Welcome to forums.
There isn't any time period specified for recording the deed. There may be some states requiring the deed to be recorded within a specific time period. For instance, California does not have such a fixed time period. But the faster your record the deed, the better for you as it implies legal transfer of property.
Thanks,
James.

I think the County Recorder's office will be able to give you the right information.
