When we brought our home from our next door neighbor, who owns any stuff left on the property?
We brought the house from neighbor. There was and still is farm equipment on our property. The neighbor has passed away but his son is now suing us for not allowing him access to farm equipment and "personal items". There were no specific statements of conveyance of any equipment back to seller on any legal document that I could find. This is a general question and I know it may have more legal issues, but who owns the equipment that was on the property (has been on the property years before the sale)?

Real property and personal property are seperate. As quick definitions: Real property is attached to the land (ie, buildings, trees, flagpoles, etc.) Personal property is anything not attached (ie, cars, tractors, bikes, etc.)
It depends on what your contract says on whether or not the personal property was included in the sale.
