what is a tenant survivorship? I asked to have my name put on the deed, this document is not recoreded.
Hi Waliydah,
I guess you're speaking about joint tenancy with rights of survivorship. If such a clause is mentioned on the property deed, it means that after the co-owner's death, you'll become the sole owner of the property. The co-owner's heirs will not be able to claim that property. However, if the deed is not recorded, then it won't be considered as valid. So, make sure that you notarize and record the deed.
Thanks,
Jerry
