can I get a copy of a ladybird deed for my mothers house to mine name? I need a copy of ladybird deed or explain what it is?
IS THERE A FORM A PERSON CAN GET OR SHOULD A LAWYER DO THIS INSTEAD OF ON MY OWN?
PS, I LIVE IN TEXAS
Hi sarah,
As far as I know, ladybird deed is not valid in Michigan. You can draw up a living trust in order to safeguard your property. You can contact the BAR Association and you'll find estate planning attorneys over there.
To MICHAELRG,
It is better to contact an attorney and get the deed form drafted from him.

Is there a site that I can go to, to print a copy of the Lady Bird deed?
Hi Ronnie,
Rather than printing the ladybird deed from any online website, you can contact a local real estate attorney and take his help in this regard. He will help you draft a deed.

I live with my mother. She has a reverse mortgage on her home. If she has a ladybird deed, and the house would revert to me, would I still have to sell the house for the reverse mortgage?
Welcome Sissy,
As far as I know, if your mother transfers the property to you now with the help of a ladybird deed, then the lender will ask her to pay off the reverse mortgage in full immediately. The lender can even take legal actions against your mother as well.
