Mortgage Affordability

Posted on: 18th Sep, 2013 02:16 am
Hello there... I am looking forward to buy a house. I have just graduated and working for past 4 months. I have a credit score of 780 and a job with a salary of $55k. How much mortgage will I be able to afford?
Hi Stefy,

Well, you have good credit scores but with such a short employment history, lenders may not be ready to offer you a mortgage. Normally, lenders require 2 years of employment history.

Take care

Hi Stefy!

Welcome to the forums!

I agree with Sara that given your short employment history, it will be quite difficult for you to get a loan. Nevertheless, there is no harm in trying. You can contact the local lenders and apply for a mortgage with them. They will let you know your chances of getting a loan.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
